Chicken, a protein staple in the American diet, is a versatile ingredient that can be eaten skinless, in a soup or broth, on top of a salad, grilled and more! Because chicken in high in protein and lower in fat compared to other meats, it is a great option for weight loss and building muscle.

It is also rich in Vitamin B6, which helps manage the metabolism, nervous and immune systems, and other important functions in the body. It’s easy to see why chicken noodle soup is always prescribed for a cold.

Chicken has other benefits, including:

  • Acting as a natural antidepressant
  • Preventing bone loss and promoting heart-health
  • Strengthening teeth, bones, kidneys and the liver

We are committed to sourcing our proteins from suppliers that follow sustainable practices for raising poultry. Our current standards for raising chickens include no use of antibiotics ever, a consistent vegetarian diet with no by-products, access to water, outdoors. As standards in the industry continue to evolve, we are committing that by 2024 we will require all chickens to be processed in a manner that avoids live-dumping and live-shackling, and instead utilizes a pre-shackle, multi-step controlled-atmosphere processing system that’s widely hailed as more humane. In addition, we will source only chicken certified by Global Animal Partnership (GAP). We will also report annually on our progress toward meeting these standards.
