The Mediterranean diet is based on the eating habits of the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea who live longer and suffer less than Americans with cancer and heart disease. The foundation of this diet is plant-based foods that include vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, and nuts. It’s recommended you eat fish and poultry at least twice a week. One should replace margarine and butter with healthy fats such as olive oil and canola oil. Also, limit eating red meat to no more than 2-3 times per month. Consume red wine in moderation and get plenty of exercise. Also, when it’s nice, don’t forget to eat al fresco like they do overseas!

The entire CoreLife Eatery menu is available to the Mediterranean diet. Here are some great recommendations:

  • Mediterranean – green bowl
  • Southwest grilled chicken and wild rice blend – grain bowl
  • Spicy ginger steak and rice noodle – broth bowl

Hear what one of our guests had to say about the food at CoreLife Eatery:

“As a full time professional and part time spinning instructor, CoreLife Eatery makes it easy for me to stay on track, eat healthy and take good care of myself and others. Whether it’s grab-and-go to eat at home, or eating in with friends, I love knowing not only exactly what I’m eating but being in control of what I’m eating. It’s also really wonderful how friendly and accommodating all of the staff are!” – Melissia
